Betty Williamson
I was born Betty Taylor at 125a Albany Rd. in 1941. I spent most of my childhood in Earlsdon living with my Aunt and Uncle Lily and Rupert Tyler at 100 Westwood Rd. I attended Earlsdon Infant and Junior schools. I remember going on outings every year with the Earlsdon Social Club to Wicksteed Park in Kettering . Would be happy to share memories with anyone from that era.

I was born Betty I Taylor in 1941. in a block of flats in Albany Road, but spent most of my childhood in Westwood Rd. I would be grateful to hear from anyone local who would be willing to take photos of these addresses or willing to consult the records for St Thomas Church The Butts on my behalf. I believe they are available at Coventry Library or Warwick Records Office. As I now live in France I can no longer do this myself. I will gladly pay all expenses etc. I have many happy memories of people who lived and worked in Earlsdon at the time including the teachers at Earlsdon Primary School.

I am researching the Odell family, ribbonmakers and manufacturers of Coventry, Warwickshire and wondering if you would have any information concerning this.

I am particularly interested in William Odell, born circa 1776 and his wife, Anna Maria Stephenson, their son Joseph Odell, born 1809 and wife Mary Stephenson.

Also, I believe that a William Stephenson was a ribbonmaker and manufacturer in the area, and I wonder if he was the father of any of the above.

Also, a family legend was that perhaps the Odells were Huguenots as they were engaged in his industry. Do you think this is possible?

Any information you could provide would be most helpful and very much appreciated!
